Habitat for Humanity

Single and Multi-Family Housing

Habitat for Humanity requested assistance with the design and development of several single family residences for low-income families in the city of Long Beach, CA.  These houses reflected a "Craftsman" style aesthetic that was prominent in the surrounding neighborhood.

In additon, we provided assistance with a multi-family residential project that consisted of several townhouse units.

El Nino Feliz Orphanage
Mexicali, Mexico

We were asked to participate in the design and coordination of a multi-residential orphanage for a non-profit organization.

The solution revolved around a central courtyard which clustered five two-story buildings housing sixteen occupants in each structure.  The solution also employed a modular building construction technique which would pre-fabricate the structures off-site and deliver them to the property for placement.

The site plan also provided a basketball court, a vegetable garden, a fish farm, arts and crafts store and a perimeter food stand which would  generate another source of revenue.

Olinda Residence

La Habra, CA

This project was a complete remodel of an existing single family residence.  The house was a 1950's ranch style building with panorama hillside views.

A new kitchen was designed and constructed as well as the implementation of a vaulted ceiling in the living room.  This project is an example of the small sized projects we are willing to assist our clients with
